Description:

Nice presentation photo album, 11 x 8 in., bound in brown suede, containing 138 photos belonging to Sergeant Allen C. Guiliani of the 159th Infantry Regiment. The cover features a vinyl image of a U.S. Army plane set between the titles ‘U.S. Air Corps' and ‘Air Corps Gunnery School Las Vegas, Nevada'. The photos depict several friends of Guiliani's nearly all posing in uniform outside their tents, training exercises, family back home, a dog named ‘Butch' who appears in several photos, soldiers enjoying their time on leave, an excellent sketch of Guiliani, some wonderful scenery showing Hawaii and its natives, African natives, and American soldiers holding onto a Japanese national flag. Contained within are also newspaper clippings and a ‘Remember Pearl Harbor' card. The first ten pages of the album bear the names, addresses, and quotes from friends, in part: ‘...Blow it out your barracks...Remember the Japs...Remember Pearl Harbor...I love Churchill...' A damp stain at the lower right corner of the front cover and chipping to the leather on the back cover; WITH a scrapbook belonging to Richard Guiliani, 12 x 13 in., with decorative black boards, containing 133 photographs among newspaper clippings, birthday cards, and membership cards. The images show American soldiers at camp posing in uniform, convoys, Guiliani at home in his teenage years, soldiers enjoying the beach, scenery of Hawaii, horses, and a soldier holding up a Japanese national flag. A tear at the top left corner of the cover, light chipping. Both albums bear some loose photos. Two pieces, overall, very good.
