A good collection of four pieces including JOSEPH REED (1741 - 1785) manuscript D.S. as President of Pennsylvania, 1p. oblong 8vo., Philadelphia, Nov 19, 1779 ordering Treasurer David Rittenhouse ordering him to pay Benjamin Crofts "To 40 Candles at 8 Dollars for the use of the Executive Council..." Uneven toning, folds, else very good. Offered together with THOMAS MIFFLIN partly-printed D.S. 1p. oblong folio on vellum, Philadelphia, May 15, 1797, a grant of "...a certain tract of land called New Amsterdam Situate on muddy Creek in Brecknoch Township Lancaster County..." Minor losses at folds, else very good; THOMAS MIFFLIN Signature removed from a vellum land grant with seal of Pennsylvania. Toned at top left with minor losses, else very good; (JOHN DUNLAP) the Aug. 28, 1792 edition of Dunlap's American Daily Advertiser 4pp. folio. Evenly toned, with minor chipping at margins, else very good. Together four pieces in very good condition.
