Good pair of signed items executed by noted American historians of the nineteenth century, includes: JOHN FISKE (1842-1901) Philosopher and historian best known for his interpretation and popularization of the evolutionary theories of Charles Darwin for American audiences. Signature in pencil on a 4" x 3 1/4" slip of paper, adding a pair of addresses, each labeled with a range of dates. The signature is affixed to a card backing, beneath a b/w photographic portrait of Fiske. Very good. WITH: WILLIAM H. PRESCOTT (1796-1859) American historian best known for his work on the history of Spain, also regarded to be the first American scientific historian. Partly-printed signed note "Wm. H. Prescott", 4 1/2" x 4", [n.p.], April 27, 1854, to an unnamed correspondent, in full: "Dear Sir, I send you with pleasure the autograph you request. Your obedient servant..." Prescott signs at the conclusion in black ink. The note is affixed to a card backing, beneath an engraved portrait of Prescott. Shows folds and minor foxing, else very good. Two pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
