Lot of four signed items, includes: TASKER H. BLISS (1853–1930) Army general and Chief of Staff from September 22, 1917 until May 18, 1918. He was also a diplomat involved in the peace negotiations of World War I, and was one of the co-signatories of the Treaty of Versailles. Bold signature adding his title as American Representative and Plenipotentiary on a 24mo. card, Paris, 1919; LEONARD WOOD (1860-1927) Army Chief of Staff, Military Governor of Cuba, and Governor General of the Philippines. T.L.S. on military letterhead, 1p. 8vo., Governors Island, Apr. 7, 1917: '...the change is difficult now in view of all the work which is coming in on us...'; ROBERT LEE BULLARD (1861–1947), Major general, fought in the Philippines, and World War I, where he commanded the 1st Infantry Division, large signature adding rank; and HUNTER LIGGETT (1857–1935) Army major general who commaned I Corps in the Second Battle of the Marne and in the reduction of the Saint-Mihiel salient. In October 1918, as commander of the First United States Army, he directed the final phases of the Meuse-Argonne offensive and the pursuit of German forces until the armistice. Signature on a small slip adding rank, 1919. Four pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
