Description:

AMERICAN G.I.'S 'KRAUT KILLER' JOHN EK FIGHTING KNIFE
Fabulous, very desirable John Ek soldier's fighting knife with decorated leather sheath. The 12 in. long wood handled knife was made by the John Ek company of Hamden, Ct., renowned for their commando knives made during World War II. The wood grip is secured with three broad rivets, the drop-point blade is stamped by the maker, and also bears model no. '11 No. 2'. The hole through the grip bears a leather thong with a drilled-through red die for luck. Sold with the original scabbard with ink personalization by the owner. He added his initials: 'BEC' along with: 'NEW HAVEN CONN. 'KRAUT KILLER' He also added a 'SCORE BOARD' with one swastika under 'STRIKES' and another under 'BALLS', probably for kills and woundings, or perhaps for officers and enlisted men shot. A working snap is fitted at the top. Obtained directly from the son of the original owner.
