Good content A.L.S., 1p. 4to., Bonsee, Nov. 10, 1918, from a 'John A. Martin' to a 'Capt. Mitchell' [representing Commander of the 306th Engineers Regiment Thatcher T. P. Luquer], reporting in part: 'We had a pretty rough time last night, the road we came over is the front lines as the Inf. retreated we repaired 3/4 of road, The other 1/4 is in too bad a condition for repair for artillery use...We have 14 men missing this AM. I don't know if any are casual[tie]s as we were split up last night & shelled heavily...' Chipped at the edges, lightly soiled, just good condition. Sold with a replying A.L.S. from Capt. Mitchell to , 1p. 4to., Bordeaux, Nov. 12, 1918, in part: 'Co. B had some casualties from shell fire not listed by Capt. Mosley...I have talked with Capt. Vaughan regarding supplies for the dump at Bonsee...I will remain at Bordeaux tonight but will have to move soon or else starve.' Sold with a map of the St. Die region of France, 27 x 21 in., showing a hand-drawn line in indelible pencil from Bruyeres to St. Die, near certainly showing the advance of Luquer's regiment towards war's end.

Shipments are sent via FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option. Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
