Large lot of signed items and insignia, all related to American military and civilian aviators, includes: ROBERT LEE SCOTT JR. (1908-2006) USAF brigadier general and World War II ace with the "Flying Tigers". Collection of seven signed items, including two T.L.S.'s, three A.N.S's, and two I.S.P.'s. Also present is a copy of Scott's book, "God is my Co-Pilot", as well as six insignia patches of the "Flying Tigers" and successor units. Originates from Scott's estate. WITH: LARENCE C. AMES (1897-1981) U.S. Army Air Force major general and director of Continental Air Lines. Group of three signed items, including a T.L.S., 3pp. 4to., Nov. 20, 1970 a letter from an Indianapolis aero club, to which Ames adds his signature, rank and various notes, as well as a pass to visit Berlin and his Continental Airlines annual pass, both dated 1945. Also present are his California Air National Guard leather flight suit name tag and a pair of two-star general's insignia patches, as well as two photos showing Ames in uniform and next to a biplane, circa 1918. Originates from Ames' estate. WITH: HOWARD W. FRENCH, Officers Reserve Flying Corps member under Gen. Billy Mitchell, barnstormer and early pilot instructor. Group of three signed items, a T.L.S., an S.P., and a greeting card, as well as a finely illustrated air mail cover addressed to French and dated 1933. WITH: Cold War insignia grouping of U.S.A.F. Colonel Jim Lee, including his Air Medal, Master Navigator's wings (two sizes), Senior Navigator's wings (two sizes), ribbon bar featuring eight ribbons (one missing), cloth uniform name patch, and three sets of colonel's insignia. Originates from Lee's estate. Should be seen.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
