I have had very little opportunity to see the condition of his battery and to know his skill as an officer. The recommendation of Genl. Green is however worthy of all credit and I have no hesitation in concurring in his recommendation. A. S. Williams Brig Genl Comg Div'. Folds, otherwise very good. Interestingly, McGilveny helped set up an artillery defense at Gettysburg after the rout of Daniel Sickles' corps at Peach Orchard.
