Description:

ALLEN DULLES (1893 - 1969) First civilian Director of the C.I.A. and its longest-serving director to date. Dulles oversaw Operation Ajax, the Lockheed U-2 program and the Bay of Pigs invasion. Good content T.L.S. as Director of the CIA on his CIA letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, June 13, 1956 to Sigurd Larmon, president of Young and Rubicam, Inc. Dulles thanks the man for sending: "...the framed copy of the President's eight Principles...This is indeed a splendid setting for the Principles and I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness..." Fine. Eisenhower's "Eight Principles" were a political creation made for television consumption during his 1956 campaign. They were reduced to three, and very effectively used.
