749. ERNST F. W. ALEXANDERSON (1878 - 1975) Pioneering Swiss-American inventor of the television. An excessively rare A.N.S. executed on a 8 1/2" x 6" card, Schenectady, May 10, 1928, in full: "To Sr. A. Zorilla de San Martin Appreciating your interest in television. E. F. W. Alexanderson". Opposite the sentiment is a photograph showing Alexanderson showing the back of a TV to another inventory. The television made its debut at the New York World's Fair in 1939, thus this item precedes that demonstration by nine years.
