Batteries which caves in and fills the ditch at its foot every hard rain...It has been cleared out...as to carry off the water. The platform of Mo. Battery has been setting for some time...I do not think magazines in danger and so soon as the pieces be recovered from Mo. Battery have been taken away the platform will have to be taken up and rebuilt...'. The right edge has been damaged, possibly by insects, which has affected some of the text but the meaning of the letter is still clear. A few small holes throughout with light spotting.
