ALEXANDER P. DE SEVERSKY
(1894 - 1974) American aviator and aeronautical engineer, founder of Republic Aircraft and maker of the P-47. A pair of signed books, the first his volume Victory Through Air Power (New York: Simon & Schuster, 1942), 354pp. hardbound, boldly inscribed on first free endpaper: "To Gene Buck my dear friend, whose sterling logic made him a champion of Bill Mitchell's ideas Alexander P. de Seversky April 20, 1942 New York City". Dust jacket badly worn, inscription page significantly foxed, spine detached, fair. Along with Air Power: Key To Survival (New York: Simon & Schuster, 1950), 376pp. hardbound, inscribed and signed on first free endpaper: "To Larry Blackman with my warm regards Alexander P. de Seversky 11/1/50". Worn condition, should be viewed. Two pieces.
