Description:

(1905-1981) Nazi German architect and Minister of Armaments and War Production, convicted of war crimes at Nuremburg. Good Holocaust content T.L.S., 1p. 4to., Heidelberg, June 18, 1970, a letter to his Jewish-American acquaintance Paul Kahn - an American architect with German ancestry who, after being deported from Germany, befriended Speer in the postwar years. In part: '...I was very touched by your letter. After the TV show, I received numerous letters from your country, which, by the way, were almost without exception positive. But to receive such a kind letter from you, as one of those who suffered the worst from Hitler, is a wonderful sign that there is still goodness in the world...Since the television interview is quite incomplete, I sent you the German edition of my 'Memories' today...' Two file holes, lightly ragged at top edge, else very good. This lot was taken from large collection of pieces of signed correspondence from Speer to Kahn consigned to us, and comes with a scan of a letter from our consigner, providing some further details into Speer and Kahn's relationship.
