Description:

ALBERT SPEER
(1905 - 1981) Nazi German architect and Minister of Armaments and War Production, convicted of war crimes at Nuremburg. Souvenir T.L.S. 1p. 4to. on Deutches Reich letterhead, [n.p.], Aug. 40, 1981, a copy of a letter in English and originally dated Aug. 10, 1944 to Hans Juttner, head of the SS Leadership office and SS Obergruppenführer, in part: "...I am worried that with the present plans to demonstrate new weapons to SS Reichsfuhrer [Heinrich] Himmler and yourself...there may be attempts to act against this edict and his implementation orders. I would therefore like to ask you to first call the Reichsfuhrer's attention to this edict...so that he does not make any decisions in ignorance...The directive you have signed to halt a portion of the developments at your instructions...contravenes this edict on the concentration of armaments and wartime production...". Boldly signed at conclusion in black ballpoint ink, just two days before his death? Fine condition.
