ALBERT SCHWEITZER
(1875 - 1965) French physician and theologian, a specialist in tropical medicine. A.D.S. in the text, 1p. oblong 8vo., Hospital of Doctor Albert Schweitzer, Aug. 14, 1960; in French an attestation for Monsieur and Madame Guy Barthelemy-van der Kreek. In part: "...Madame worked for five years before her marriage in my hospital as a doctor. I have been acquainted with Monsieur Guy Barthelemy for many years. I know his dedicated spirit. I wish that both may be able to do the work they have taken upon themselves...". Schweitzer established his renowned hospital in 1913, and by the 1960s there were 350 patients with their families and 150 patients in the leper colony. Very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
