(1931 - 1973) "The Boston Strangler", serial rapist and murderer who claimed 13 victims. De Salvo would pose as an official, enter his victim's home, and commit the assault and murder. After a two-year spree, DeSalvo was arrested for rape and immediately confessed to the killings. Murdered while incarcerated. Scarce, good content A.L.S. "Al", also signed in full at top, 4pp. 4to., South Walpole, Ma., Feb. 5, 1958 with mismatched holograph envelope. In part: "...I am going to Norfolk Hospital tomorrow afternoon for an operation on my nose. That was somethingTony Curtis [who portrayed DeSalvo in the film The Boston Strangler] getting his nose broken during a chase scene - mine happening about the same time as his (HAHA). When I went to court last week he was around the court house too, I guess they were shooting scenes...I'm still the same Al in heart...Irma and children are very happy...I'm very happy for the children sake she was able to remarry again...I can't stop loving her, that's my whole problem, I loved her too much...she is wrong not sending childrens pictures to me and letting them write...she feels Albert's in prison and can't do anything about it...Lee Bailey is flying out to where she lives, that will shock her good. She'll soon see how the law works...I'm pretty well messed up right now between going in the hospital and finding out where I'm going to stay and do my time...I discussed it over with my Doctor and he said it is good I am able to release what's inside me. I've been holding it in for so long, I had no outlet before...that's why I had to stop I couldn't see what I was writing...". Folds, else very good.
