Description:

AIRCRAFT WINDOW PANEL SIGNED BY THE PILOT OF THE "MEMPHIS BELLE"
A window from an unidentified aircraft, 34" x 15" overall, 1" thick plexiglass, possibly a pilot's side window from a bomber, boldly signed by noted B-17 pilot ROBERT MORGAN (1918-2004), pilot of the Memphis Belle, one of the first B-17s to complete 25 missions over Europe. He then completed 26 missions over Japan, including the first raid on Tokyo. He signs the glass in black marker: "Robert Morgan Pilot Memphis Belle 324 Squadron 91st Group 8th Air Force". Very good. From the personal collection of World War II and Civil War historian Michael Miner. Miner's thirty-year collection was built through an extensive system of contacts he developed with artifact hunters and diggers in Europe and the Far East, and he maintained careful records of the items he amassed.
