Description:

ADOLF HITLER
(1889 - 1945) Dictator of Germany and Nazi Party leader, Hitler's bloody rise to power, his military seizure of most of Europe and North Africa and his genocidal racial policies culminated in suicide in his Berlin bunker as Russian troops approached. Extraordinary A.Ms. with original sketches (unsigned), 4pp. legal folio, [n.p., n.d.], notes made by Hitler in which he reacts to the French occupation of the Ruhr in 1923-25 and to the allegation that France finances putsches in Germany, notably Hitler's failed Beer Hall Putsch on Nov. 8, 1923. Penciled on thin tan stock, with complete German transcription and corresponding English translation, in small part: "...Who's making the charge?...I wouldn't know anything about it....Actually stupid why? Struggle in the Ruhr. They are preparing putsches in Germany. They are being supported by Germany. Pittinger...France actually gave money...Complete insanity...The [Kurt] Ludecke case...Hard foreign currency at the same of inflation...Pittinger ought to know that this claim is nonsense...[Ernst] Hafstangel...What money ends up in their hands?...Why am I complaining...They pointed their fingers at me...I myself 4 1/2 years against France...an unheard-of insult...getting rich...Did Morell identify a press?...". At conclusion, Hitler adds two doodles, the first resembling a spider dangling by a single thread and the second a decorative finial. Chipping to margins, light toning, else very good. Dr. Otto Pittinger (d. 1926) was, with Hitler, an early planner of a putsch to overthrow the Bavarian government. Kurt Ludecke was an ardent German nationalist, a playboy and international traveler who joined the Nazi party in the early 1920s and who used his social connections to raise money for the NSDAP. Hitler's holograph notes are simply nonexistent. Worthy of further research!
