Very rare and important typed D.S., 2pp. 4to., Stuttgart, Apr. 1, 1938, enacting an 'Enabling Law'. In full: Law about the extension of the term of office of Confidence Councils ['Vertrauensrate']. Dated 1. April 1938. The Reich government has passed the following law, which is hereby promulgated: The term of office of the current members of the Confidence Council (Section 5 of the Act on the Order of National Work, Section 3 of the Act on the Order of Work in Public Administrations and Companies) will be extended until further notice. A renewed taking of the solemn oath according to Sec. 10 of the law for the regulation of the National Work and Sec. 8 the laws regulating work in public administrations and companies does not hold effect...' Signed by Hitler as 'Fuhrer und Reichskanzler' at conclusion. Also signed by: FRANZ SELDTE (1882-1947), Nazi Reichsminister of Labor and Gauleiter of Moselland, indicted at Nuremberg but died before the trial commenced; WALTHER FUNK (1890-1960), Nazi Minister of Economics who confiscated goods of imprisoned Jews to the Reichsbank via Himmler. Sentenced to life imprisonment; and WILHELM FRICK (1877-1946), Nazi Minister of the Interior, author of the Nuremberg Laws. Hanged at Nuremburg for his crimes. Blind-embossed seal at center, folds, near fine. Laws signed by Hitler are of the greatest rarity.
