Description:

ADOLF HITLER PRESENTATION PLANTER
An unusual Adolf Hitler presentation piece, a large porcelain planter with base presented to him by the small town of Neuhemsbach, just west of Mannheim. A most attractive piece, the planter stands 10.5 in. high with an opening of 9 in. diameter at the top. At top there appears a band of overlapped leaves with burgundy bands at top and bottom. Two gilt dragon heads appear on opposite sides, and are used to lift the piece. One side of the planter bears a black painted presentation (beneath the glazing): 'Reichskanzler ADOLF HITLER 5 Mai 1933 NEUHEMSBACH', while the reverse displays two oak leaf branches on either side of a large mobile swastika. The planter rests atop a circular base rimmed in black. Slightly soiled with some wear to the gilding, else fine condition. In all likelihood, Hitler passed through the town while en rout to or from Mannheim.
