Description:

ADOLF HITLER PRESENTATION GOLD PEN AND PENCIL SET
Excellent personality items once owned by Adolf Hitler, a matching gold fountain pen and mechanical pencil set gifted by Hitler t an unknown individual as a Christmas present in 1938. Both writing instruments are hallmarked '585' indicating they are 14 karat gold, and both were made by 'Goldfink', a distinguished pen maker in Berlin from 1910 until about 1970. The piston-type fountain pen is 4.5 in. long (with cap in place), the cap bearing a pocket clip. The body is minutely cross-hatched, with the unfinished top of the cap engraved: 'Weihnachten 1938' ('Christmas 1938') with Hitler's expertly rendered period facsimile signature beneath. The cap unscrews to reveal a black bakelite nib holder and the nib marked: 'Goldfink 14 Kt No. 2'. The mechanical pencil is similarly designed, the body slightly slimmer, unengraved. The pencil is operable, the fountain pen appears to be opearble as well. Both are presented within a brown pebbled leather zippered case with elastic holders. From the collection and estate of Michel Firman, a lifetime collector of militaria, art, and photography.
