ABRAHAM A. BRILL
(1874-1948) American psychiatrist and a close associate of Sigmund Freud, the first to translate many of Freud's works into English. Scarce T.L.S. 1p. 4to., New York, Dec. 15, 1927, to George Viereck, a controversial American poet, journalist and novelist who was one of the early popularizers of Freudianism in America. Viereck was also an apologist of Nazism, which resulted in his imprisonment from 1942-1947. In part: "…Thanks very much for sending me your paper on Freud. I read it with a great deal of pleasure and I agree that it is not a mere interview. It is a very excellent portrayal of the man as I know him, perhaps slightly changed through his illness…". Very good.
