THEODORE ROOSEVELT (1858 - 1919) Twenty-sixth President of the United States who started the Panama Canal, settled the Russo-Japanese War, broke up Standard Oil and encouraged conservation. An original volume from his library entitled The North American Fisheries Arbitration: Appendix to the United States Before Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Hague (Washington: Government Printing Office, 1909). The 4to. leatherbound volume is stamped "The President in gold on the cover, and is contained within a custom case with a label on the spine reading: "From the Library of President Theodore Roosevelt 1909". Rubbing to spine and corners of book, interior very good. From the collection of John Lattimer.
