94TH AERO SQUADRON MEMBER''S CASED, DECORATED GAS MASK
Gas mask, decorated case and accessories belonging to a member of the famed American 94th Aero Squadron, a U.S. Army Air Service squadron of day fighters and one of the first American pursuit squadrons to reach the Western Front and see combat. The The 10" x 10" x 3" canvas case is hand-decorated with the "wings and propeller" insignia of the Air Corps, the "Hat in the Ring" emblem of the 94th, the owner''s initials, and "94th Aero Sq." Th egas mask, hose, and other contents are largely intact. Very good. Three notable air aces served with the squadron, Eddie Rickenbacker, who was awarded almost every decoration attainable, including the Medal of Honor and the Distinguished Service Cross. Douglas Campbell was the first American pilot to become an ace. Another member, Raoul Lufbery, attained 17 aerial victories before leaping to his death from a fiery Nieuport 28 aircraft in May 1918.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made.
