The day which gave birth to our Country's Freedom. The day upon which the immortal Declaration of Independence which you have heard [&] read was put forth to the world declaring these United Colonies free and independent - the day upon which the galling chains of oppression and tyranny were thrown off by an indignant and patriotic people, and eternal resistance sworn, to British aggression...". Light soiling, a few marginal tears, usual folds, else very good. Offered with an early nineteenth-century manuscript sheet music, 1p. legal folio, [n.p., n.d.], the music and three stanzas of lyrics for "Yankee Doodle". Overall very good condition. Also together with a printed broadside, 1p. legal folio, Middletown, [n.d.] with the heading "The following Odes are for the 4th July, at Middletown." with three odes sung to the tunes of "Coronation", "Liberty", and "Bunkerhill". Tape repairs on verso, usual folds, else very good. $200 - 300
