W. A. 'DICK' MORGAN American Brigadier General who served in the Navy during World War I, served in the Second Army during World War II, finally serving in the 28th Pennsylvania National Guard Infantry Division after war's end. His light blue wool tunic, dated 1957, closed on the front with four brass buttons. Pinned on each epaulette is a general's star insignia, hallmarked and matching. Each upper collar lapel has a matching officer's 'U.S.' pin. Sewn at right shoulder is a patch for former combat service in the Second US Army, the left shoulder bearing a patch for current service in the 28th (Pennsylvania) Army National Guard Infantry Division. Each lower sleeve has the wide black mohair cloth rings of general officer's status. The left breast bears an impressive collection of twelve ribbon bars, while the right pocket flap bears a plastic name tag with his surname. The inside of this uniform has the usual partial lining, with a'37R' size tag sewn in at the neck. Sewn on the inside of an inside pocket is another cloth tag with the following information: 'Coat, Man's, Wool Serge, Army Green 44 Size 37R Superior Coat Co. QM 8491 O.I.-531-C-57 15 Aug. 1956 Spec. No. MIL-C-13990 (Q.M.C.) Stock No. 8405-286-5146 Pattern Date 23 March 1956 Phila. Quartermaster Depot 100% Wool'. Fine condition. The lot includes General Morgan's Army Green service cap with name tag inside that reads: 'Identification Colonel (which is lightly crossed out and has 'General' inked over it) W.A. Morgan 311 Coleridge Ave. Altoona, PA'. To complete the uniform, the lot is sold with a period officer's style shirt, and a black neck tie. From a major private collection on public display.

Shipments are sent via FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option. Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
