Photobook: ‘Dass Niemand Sagen Kann Er Kenne Deutschland' (Munich: Working Group for Contemporary History), 1939. 133pp. 4to., beige boards, dust jacket included. This book was published by order of the Mayor of Munich, Karl Fiehler and offers b/w photos throughout of Munich in the Third Reich, largely focusing on the architecture. Though the text is in German, each image bears a caption in German, English, French, and Italian. Signing on the title page are German intellectuals: malaria expert Dr. ERNST RODENWALDT, ALFRED PLOETZ who coined the term ‘racial hygiene', EUGEN FISCHER, ERNST BOEPPLE (also an SS officer, hanged for war crimes), attorney ANNE-EVA BRAUNECK, evolutionary scientist GERHARD HERBERER, anthropologist WILHELM GEISELER, WALTER GROSS, creator and head of the Office of Racial Policy, anthropologist THEODOR MOLLISON, OTTO RECHE, an advocate of Polish genocide, and ERNST C. HELMREICH. Accompanied by a numbered list explaining who signed and where. The dust jacket is rather rough displaying several tears throughout, though the book itself is in very good condition showing only minor spotting.
