Description:

1902 SAN FRANCISCO TELEPHONE BOOK INCLUDING NEWTON JASPER EARP
A very early telephone book from the rapidly-growing mini-metropolis of Los Angeles, 7" x 9 1/2" x 4" thick, with the vast majority of those listed having no telephone at all! Interestingly, addresses are set forth, as is every individual's occupation, including "widow". Among those listed is "NEWTON JASPER EARP" (1837-1929), the little known half-brother of lawmen Wyatt, Virgil, and Morgan Earp. With plenty of early Los Angeles business ads - interesting!
