‘RED' AND ‘BLUE' WRITE TO CHARLES MANSON
SANDRA GOOD (b. 1944) A long-time member of the Manson Family and a close friend of Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme. Good was in jail with Mary Brunner for attempting to use stolen credit cards when the Tate/La Bianca murders took place but was arrested at Spahn Ranch during the August 16th raid. In 1975 Good was sentenced to 15 years for sending death threats and was paroled in 1985. A.L.S. ‘Bee', 2pp. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], on lined letterhead to Charles Manson, whom she address as ‘CM', in part: "…I got the 2 tapes you send & hurriedly listened to a few songs on each & then I put the tapes in Reds bag & took to her case manager. Her birthday is in 2 days so I was able to send her some things so I added the tapes. Bruce is singing Bob Dylan songs. Kristin Tex has a nice voice. Regarding my Ka letter, the Rats I was talking about was Stephanie, Oush [?] etc. those that testified against you etc. on 2 holding letters. She had told me she had some for us. Actually they were mostly to her, but she didn't make that clear. There was one for the republican National Committee something like that, you had heard them on the radio so I returned it to her…also one fat girl named Rebecca. I called Z after I got them…Just read some old Time & Newsweek articles about Red's Ford thing & the Time mag printed excerpts from her writing as semi-literate blah blah. She's revised her book so much that its a lot different from what Time printed…What do you mean ‘Tell Bees maybe making her man rich is the only way to love her man etc' Huh? Make who rich & how? I don't like rich men. Also what are the blue cops. Am I aready to go into RE or have I got to [sic] much Ka to balance before I Re. I haven't been as grump this week. When I wrote that Ka letter my period started 2 weeks early…It usually comes at full moon…I don't know what causes those changes…I dreamed a nice dream about you but you were FAT…I got to send Red up a huge bag of popcorn Sunday…'. WITH: a partial A.L. signed in text of LYNETTE ‘SQUEAKY' FROMME (b. 1948), a follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford but failed to get a shot off when her gun jammed., 2pp. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], a quirky letter in pen, mosly crossed-out in blue highlighter. In part: ‘…Gilmore book: First one person said Gilmpre claimed he knew CM. Next mention Gilmore n jail says to cell partner that he believes in psychic power & book of Squeaky Fromme….Cell partner says you mwan she went after ford because they wouldn't let her in to visit Manson & Gilmore says something like no, he got her to do it w/his mind psychic power. Next mention is his girlfriend's mother telling someone ‘he's another Charlie Manson' and way at the end he is quoted as telling his girl (in suggesting she commit suicide) ‘I'm not Charlie Manson. I wouldn't try to tell you what to do'… On a separate torn piece of notepaper Fromme continues: ‘…On ABC tonight they were talking about Ramsay Clarke. Apparently Carter made some statement about Clarke's guilt or innocence & the comparison was made to Nixon saying CM was guilty & later retracking the statement…'. Very good condition, two pieces.
