WORLD WAR I "SOUVENIRS OF FRANCE"
Good pair of souvenir items acquired in France by visiting American soldier during and immediately after World War I, includes: paper post card, 5 1/2" x 3 1/2", with integral lace envelope embroidered with the date "1918" in the colors of the flags of the Entente powers, with "Souvenir de France" embroidered below. The envelope encloses a small 3" x 1 3/4" greeting card, showing a small pastoral scene and printed "Souvenir from France", and bearing the inscription "From your son Elmer Jr." in black ink, with the date "Sept. 27th 1918". The reverse of the card bears a second message from the soldier to his parents. Shows mounting remnants, else very good. WITH: embroidered cloth picture frame, 3 1/2" x 5", decorated with the French and American flags and bearing the date "1919" and the message "Souvenir de France". No photograph is present with the frame. Shows appropriate soiling and wear, else very good. Two pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
