WEST POINT GREATCOAT OF MARINE LAWRENCE KENT MEADE
The gray wool great coat belonging to Lawrence Kent Meade (1912-1942), graduated West Point 1934. During World War II, he was CO Battery 155's, 313th Field Artillery in the Philippine Army, and died of malaria on Sept. 24, 1942 in the Cabanatuwan POW camp, Philippines. The heavy, gray wool great coat has U.S.M.A. brass buttons and original Cadet Store tag within, with identification noted "Mead[sic] LK, 59-39-32-4020-2-18", dated "9-29-31". Fine condition. From the personal collection of World War II and Civil War historian Michael Miner. Miner's thirty-year collection was built through an extensive system of contacts he developed with artifact hunters and diggers in Europe and the Far East, and he maintained careful records of the items he amassed.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
