Description:

WAR OF 1812 PERIOD ARTILLERY EXERCISE
An unusual imprint, 1p. 4to., [n.p., n.d., c. 1812], entitled "ARTILLERY EXERCISE. Six Divisions of Movements" detailing the steps of the standard drill for an artillery unit. Several of the steps have been annotated or corrected: "Inside half hanger" was changed to "Inside protect" and so on. The sheet was very likely used in the field during training and bears heavy folds (with some separations reinforced on the verso with another unrelated imprint) and bears an inked identification "Artillery Exercises" in the margin. Overall good to very good condition.
