(1880 - 1946) Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, 1940-45. Tuka was one the main forces behind the deportation of Slovak Jews to Nazi concentration camps in Poland, and was executed in 1946 after the fall of his government. Rare T.L.S. on his letterhead as President of the Slovakian Council, 1p. 4to., Bratislava, May 28, 1940 to Gen. Barckhausen, head of the German military mission to Slovakia, apparently a congenial note of thanks. File holes at left, light soiling, else very good. Sold with an invitation to Barckhausen inviting him to a dinner, and a card bearing the emblems of the Slovak People's Party and the Nazi Party. Three pieces.
