VITTORIO EMMANUEL (1820 - 1878) King of Piedmont, Savoy, and Sardinia from 1849 to 1861. On February 18, 1861, he assumed the title King of Italy to become the first king of a united Italy. D.S. "Vittorio Emanuele", as King of Italy, in Italian, 3pp., 12" x 15", Italy, Aug. 28, 1942, on paper imprinted with his name and a watermark of the state manufactory. Largely untranslated, the document lists various decrees and other business related to the Ministry of War. With a reference to Mussolini "del Duce del Fascismo" as head of the Government. A large, bold signature of the King above several stamps with titles and signatures of officials of the Ministry of War. Very good.
