VICTORIA
(1819 - 1901) Queen of England, reigned during the Crimean and Boer Wars, abolished the East India Company, brought Disraeli to power as Prime Minister, and is considered the symbol of a unified British Empire. Unusual D.S. 1p. oblong folio, [London], Nov. 22, 1881, an Exequator for Mr. Aloysius J. Kane, in part: "...Whereas the President of the United States of Columbia has by a Commission bearing date the thirtieth day of August, One Thousand eight hundred and eighty, constituted Mr. Aloysius J. Kane to be Consul at Dover. And we having thereupon approved of the said Aloysius J. Kane as Consul for the said United States...Our Will and Pleasure are...that you do receive, countenance, and as there may be occasion, favourably assist him...". Boldly signed at top. Linen-backed, folded and hinged within a slim leather case no doubt to easily carry. Case a bit worn and hinge weakened a bit, otherwise very good condition.
