Description:

TUNIC OF AN OBERSTURMFUHRER-SS ON HIMMLER'S STAFF
Excessively rare and most desirable tunic belonging to an SS-Obersturmfuhrer assigned to service on the staff of Reichsfuhrer-SS Heinrich Himmler. M36 SS-Rock. cut in early feldgrau. The boards are sewn-in silver wire on black, one still retaining the original RZM paper tag on reverse. The tabs are machine applied to the open collar, matching and correctly piped at a narrower gauge than the thicker striped piping of the collar. Silver bullion sleeve eagle expertly applied to left sleeve, as is the silver wire 'RS FF' cuff title which is faultless. 'Honor Chevron of the Old Guard' also professionally sewn to right sleeve. First pattern SS SA Sports Badge and ribbon bar including War Merit Cross with Swords are both pinned to the tunic. All of the pebbled buttons are present, and appear to be original to the garment. Within, the uniform is fully lined and has a dagger clip and leather tab under the left armpit. The interior breast pocket bears the cloth label of the maker "A. Losberger" in Stuttgart. The inked-in rank of the recipient, an Obersturmfuhrer, is partially legible, as is the 1939 date of fabrication, but his name is illegible. This tunic was originally the property of the late Bob Coleman, widely recognized uniform dealer and collector. An important piece of SS cloth.
