(1756-1835) English naturalist and founding member of the famed Zoological Society. A.L.S. 1p. 4to., [n.p. but London], Dec. 3, 1824, to secretary of the Athenaeum club Edward Macgrath, in part: "…I have been honored with your letter…In my Memorandum it had merely occurred to me that I was about to incur a year's subscription for a Month - Having accepted a Nomination to the Club, if the Members please I am willing of course to be a Subject to its Rules & therefore leave the Question wholly to Mr. Lambert's kind feeling towards me…". Naturalist Ayler Bourke Lambert was one of the first Fellows of the Linnaean Society. Light mounting strip to verso of integral address leaf, otherwise very good condition.
