Description:

Good lot of three pieces of desirable Third Reich ephemera, includes: scarce SS publication, a 1942-dated issue of the "SS-Leitheft" ("SS Leader Book") magazine, 34pp. 8vo., published by the SS-Hauptamt, Himmler's main office. This publication was mostly circulated among professional officers in the SS, and later in the war was printed in several different languages. This particular issue showcases examples of Third Reich sculpture, and contains articles on ancient runes, prehistorical pictograms, religion within the SS, and so on. Covers detached and toned but present, else very good. WITH: a partly-printed D.S., 2pp. 12mo., Schonlante, May 21, 1939, a second-place award certificate granted by the "Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen" ("National Socialist Reich League for Physical Education"), signed by an official and fitted with a braided red and white cord from which is suspended a gold-painted badge in the form of an oak leaf. The certificate is housed in a grey cover bearing the blind-embossed insignia of the NSRL. Very good. WITH: a printed pocket calendar, "Mecklenburgischer Voss un Haas-Kalendar" for the year 1939, most interestingly featuring an image of Hitler and other officials inspecting a new-production Volkswagen inside the front cover. Shows notable foxing and a few small tears to the covers, else very good. Three pieces.
