Description:

(b. 1948) With Lawrence Bittaker, one of the infamous "Toolbox Killers", who raped and murdered five women in Southern California in 1979. Good pair of signed items, includes: A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], July 4, 1994, to "Mike". Norris explains how he begain drawing as a youth, executing a black ink sketch of a mountain lion at bottom right as a demonstration, and continues: "...This coming November. I will have fifteen long years in on my 'forty-five year to life' prison sentence. The twenty-fourth of June, marked fifteen years since the beginning of the five senseless murders... that label Lawrence Bittaker and myself as Serial Killers. A label, that is increasingly harder for me to live with... with each passing year! Had I not confessed and testified against Larry, I do not have any doubts... that I would already have committed suicide to end the shame and horrific nightmares that grow in heinous intensity as time continues. I am thankful... that I was able to relieve some of my burden of guilt, in confessing our crimes and testifying in court... And I am very glad the crimes are so old... as I simply couldn't handle the type of media attention O.J. Simpson's got!!! [all sic]" He signs within his sketch at the conclusion in black ink, adding his thumbprint. WITH: A.L.S., 1p. 8vo. Crescent City, Oct. 22, 1995, to "Jim". Norris discusses his latest drawing habits, executing a black ink sketch of poppies at bottom right, and continues: "This Halloween, marks the sixteenth year since the death of our last victim... Shirley Lynnette Ledford. Not a day passes, that I don't think of all five and say silent prayers for them", He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Both very good. Two pieces.
