Description:

116. RMS LUSITANIA RELIC A very rare relic of the ill-fated liner, RMS Lusitania, a silver-plated ashtray removed from the vessel prior to her sinking. The circular ashtray measures 4 1/2" across with five indentations for resting cigars or cigarettes. In the center of the ribbed-edge bowl is a high-relief raised enameled red pennant of the Cunard Line flying on a copper flag pole. The name of the vessel "R.M.S. Lusitania" is fancily engraved upon the outside rim of the ashtray, which also bears six embossed hallmarks. A very rare relic from a vessel whose name is commensurate with America's entry into World War I. From the collection of noted Titanic and steamship collector Ken Schultz. $700-900
