PRINCE JOHANN GEORG II
(1613-1680) Elector of Saxony, his reign was marked by the economic reconstruction of Saxony after the Thirty Years' War. Scarce manuscript L.S. 1p. legal folio, June 9, 1655, a letter of state in old German, in part: "...After the present until now...Hans Costrow von Lindeman arrived at 'dismission' and to go into service for your highness: We want to recommend him in agreeable demonstration at any time willing and obedient...From the grace of God Johann George, George Duke of Saxony, Juelich...Archmarshal of the Roman Empire...Lord at Magdeburg...Lord of Ravenstein...". Signed at conclusion, with integral address leaf bearing imprint of red-wax seal. Expected toning and light wear, very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
