PIECE OF FLAG FOUND AT ANTIETAM
A swatch of red fabric, laid into a patriotic brass 1/9th plate gutta-percha case. Beneath the matt is a small sheet with the embossed emblem of the Hagerstown, Md. G.A.R. post over which has been typed: "PIECE OF FLAG FOUND AT THE DUNKER CHURCH ON THE ANTIETAM BATTLEFIELD, SEPT. 1862" The relic was originally part of the collection of Reno Post No. 4 of the G.A.R. of Hagerstown, Md. that was amassed by Antietam Battlefield guide O. T. Reilly who in that capacity often convinced veterans visiting the battlefield to donate personal relics. Flag remnant bears the usual wear, else fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
