The group also includes five pieces of insignia, including: two U.S. Fifth Air Force patches, the larger likely theater-made; a U.S. Army Air Forces patch; an Australian Commonwealth Military Forces cap badge, and a London-made souvenir U.S.A.A.F. belt buckle. The collection is rounded out by numerous documents and pieces of ephemera related to Nesbitt"˜s service, including; a pass allowing unlimited access to wharves and transport vessels; several commendation letters and recommendations for promotion; the text of a poem or song, entitled "A Hitch in Hell", describing the hardships face by servicemen on New Guinea; two Christmas cards featuring portraits of Nesbitt; newspaper clipping; and more. A fine, especially illustrative view of the Pacific Theater. Should be seen.
