OTTO VON BISMARK
(1815 - 1898) Chancellor of the German Empire, fought Austria in the Seven Weeks' War, put through many economic and social reforms. Scarce A.L.S. "v. Bismarck" as first Chancellor of the German Empire, 2pp. 4to., Berlin, Dec. 1, 1887. Writing in German, he advises the Minister of Justice that "...His Majesty [Wilhelm I] the King [of Germany] has commanded me to inform you that His Gracious Majesty will grant you retirement from your office of Minister of Justice...and that you will remain at your post at the Ministry of Justice until a successor has been named...". King Wilhelm died the following year, as did his successor Friedrich III, and Bismarck was forced by Friedrich's successor Wilhelm II to resign all his political offices in 1890. Light toning to edges with two short fold breaks, otherwise in very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
