He was also severely wounded in the assault at Corinth and at Fort Harrison during the siege of Petersburg. A.L.S. on official letterhead, 2pp. 4to., [n.p.], Apr. 18, 1866 to Iowa Sen. J. W. Grimes. Ord warmly recommends an aide, Lt. Col. Hugh G. Brown, and hopes that he may be appointed an officer in the regular army. Very good. $75-100
