Description:

NAZI LAND CUSTOMS DAGGER WITH HANGERS
Rare, fine condition Nazi Land Customs Dagger with Hangers, made by Alcoso. This dagger is rarely seen. It in many ways resembles the standard Heer officer's dagger, but utilizes a cast aluminum pommel and crossguard, both of which are in superb condition, save a few surface scratches to the top of the pommel. The custom-green leather grip is completely intact and remains sponge-like and taut, and its aluminum twisted wire wrap is present and undamaged. The dagger's ten-inch blade is beautiful, terminating in a needle-sharp point, and shows only the slightest hint of oxidation, which appears near the tip of the blade. No obvious running marks are evident. The Alcoso maker's mark is dark and very distinct. The original leather buffer remains in place and is attached to the dagger. The scabbard is very good, the aluminum fittings show a little corrosion which does not greatly detract. The leather covering, which matches the green grip color perfectly, is completely intact save a 1/4 in. scuff on the reverse side. All screws remain in place. A set of green Land Customs hangers with aluminum bullion facings featuring double green stripes and a light green velvet backing are included and in excellent condition. A silver portepee, a bit worn, is properly tied to the dagger. Originally sold by LTC. Tom Johnson, this dagger comes with his original hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity. Overall in near fine to fine condition, this rare dagger is far better than is usually seen.
