(1821 - 1877) Confederate lieutenant general of Tennessee cavalry and arguably the greatest cavalry officer in history, he raided and harassed Union forces and supply lines with great effect throughout the war. Printed D.S. 1p. folio, Sept. 1, 1869, a "First Mortgage Eight Per Cent. Bond." in the sum of a thousand dollars, signed by Forrest as President. Trimmed at top, two coupons missing at bottom, slight tape repair to margin, very good condition with a fine, bold signature.
