Description:

MITSUO FUCHIDA
(1902 - 1976) Japanese naval air officer who commanded and personally led the first wave of the attack on Pearl Harbor; he also helped develop the disastrous attack on Midway. Fine bold signature on a commemorative cover honoring the hymn "O Little Town of Bethlehem!". Cancelled Bethlehem, Pa. Nov. 9, 1964. Fuchida signs at lower right adding: "Luke 23:34", and his name in Japanese. Fine.
