Description:

FELIX MENDELSSOHN (1809-1847) German composer of symphonies, concertos, and operas, well known for his overture "A Midsummer Night's Dream ". Scarce D.S. "F. Mendelssohn " with apparently a title following, 1p. sm. folio, [n.p.], Feb. 17, 1842, in German. Untranslated, apparently the minutes of a meeting, possibly held at the "Hotel de Russie ", during which three decisions or choices were made, also with possible mention of "Liszt ". Signed at bottom by six meeting members, Mendelssohn signing last. Some light soiling, folds, a few trivial ink spots at upper-right, else very good. There is a "Hotel de Russie" in Berlin, site of many classical music concerts at that time. Should be translated. $1,500-2,000
