Extensive 17 piece grouping of documents related to the service of Leutnant and Gruppenfluglehrer Gerhard Geisel. Included is: Deutsche Fallschirm -Ges. m. b. H. training certificate, 1p. 4to., Berlin, Feb. 26, 1933, for packing and the of the combined Robur parachute and its use in jumps; handwritten notes, 3pp. 8vo., a parachute book for the "Defag-Fallschrim No.153", Feb. 20, 1933 and showing five registered jumps; certificate of the required parachute jump, Mar. 3, 1933, signed by a police lieutenant and aviation expert; a pass with photo, Mar. 9, 1933; pilot license issued Feb. 9, 1934, photo removed; copy of the service contract with the Reich Ministry of Aviation dated, 1937; award certificate for the Civilian Pilot's Badge, issued as a flight instructor of the Fliegerschule Quedlinburg, Jan. 20, 1938 and signed by Gen. LEONHARD KAUPISCH (1878–1945), German general who served as Supreme Military Commander of occupied Denmark; award certificate for the Pilots Badge, as a sergeant, issued on Oct. 6, 1938 by Major Gen. ROBERT RITTER VON GREIM (1892–1945), a Field Marshal and pilot. In the last days of World War II, Adolf Hitler appointed Greim as commander of the Luftwaffe to replace Göring, whom he had dismissed for treason; Luftwaffe (military) aircraft license, issued June 30, 1938 with photo, promotions to captain; award certificate for War Merit Cross, 2nd Class with Swords, as Lieutenant Kr.O. and group flight instructor of Flzgf. Sch. A / B 2 Schülerkp., issued Jan. 30, 1942 Lieutenant-Gen. FRIEDRICH HEILGENBRUNNER (1891-1977), commanding general and Commander in Luftgau XII / XIII; Luftwaffe Observer Certificate (Land), issued on Dec. 1, 1942 by K.Gr.z.b.V.105, with photo; award certificate for the Pilot Observer Badge, Jan. 20, 1943; award certificate for the Flight Clasp for Transport Aircraft in Bronze, issued on Jan. 24, 1943 by Gen. ROBERT RITTER VON GREIM; award Certificate for the Iron Cross, 2nd Class, issued on Feb. 25, 1943 by Colonel-Gen. ROBERT RITTER VON GREIM; copy of the determination of seniority rank for Lieutenant Kr.O. from Feb. 2, 1944; cover letter from a bank, Apr. 19, 1944; and two small photos of the man with two comrades in flying suits and in uniform. A particularly large archive, in very good to fine condition.
